🌿 Fragrance Oils or Essential Oils? Understanding the Difference
One of the questions I'm asked from time to time is whether I use fragrance oils or essential oils in my wax melts and candles.
The simple answer is...
I use high-quality fragrance oils.
Sometimes people assume that "essential oils" are always the better option, but the truth is that each has its own purpose, and neither is automatically better than the other.
So I thought I'd explain the difference.
🌸 What are essential oils?
Essential oils are extracted directly from plants, flowers, herbs, fruits or trees.
They capture the natural aroma of that particular plant.

🌱 Peppermint
Because they come from nature, their scent can vary depending on the harvest, growing conditions and season.
They're wonderful for creating natural botanical fragrances, but they also have limitations.

Fragrance oils are specially created to produce beautiful, long-lasting scents.
Some recreate natural aromas, while others combine notes that simply don't exist in nature.
Think about fragrances like:

These scents couldn't be produced using essential oils alone.
