If you've browsed the Melting Moments website, you'll probably have noticed that all of my wax melts and candles are made using soy wax. But what exactly is soy wax, and why do so many home fragrance makers choose it?

Soy wax is a natural wax made from soybeans.
After the beans are harvested, the oil is extracted and carefully processed into a smooth wax that's ideal for candles and wax melts. It's become increasingly popular over the years, not only because of its performance but also because it's made from a renewable plant source.
🕯️ Why do I choose soy wax?
When I first started creating Melting Moments, I wanted to make products that reflected my values. For me, it wasn't just about creating beautiful fragrances. It was about creating products that people could enjoy in their homes while making thoughtful choices wherever possible. Soy wax offers several qualities that make it a wonderful choice.

🌸 Does soy wax smell different?
Not at all.
The fragrance you enjoy comes from the carefully blended fragrance oils added to the wax. The soy wax simply acts as the carrier, helping to release those beautiful fragrances as your candle burns or your wax melt warms.
🌿 Why might soy wax look different?
One thing you may notice is that soy wax doesn't always look perfectly smooth.
You might occasionally see:
🌱 Slight frosting
🌱 Small texture changes
🌱 Tiny variations in appearance
These are completely natural characteristics of soy wax and don't affect how your candle or wax melt performs. In fact, they're often a sign that you're enjoying a natural wax rather than a heavily processed alternative. I like to think these little differences are part of what makes every hand-poured product unique.

No two hand-poured candles or wax melts are ever completely identical. That's one of the things I love most about making them. Each one is carefully created, poured and finished by hand, ready to bring warmth and fragrance into someone's home. For me, that's what Melting Moments is all about.
