When I first started Melting Moments, I thought social media would simply be a place to share my products. A way of showing what I'd made, reaching new customers and hopefully growing my little business. What I didn't expect was the people.
Over time, I found myself becoming part of a wonderful community of small business owners, each with their own dreams, challenges and stories to tell. People I've never met in person have celebrated my successes, encouraged me when I've doubted myself and reminded me why supporting small businesses is so important.
We cheer each other on when a new collection launches. We celebrate every order, no matter how big or small. We understand the excitement of receiving a kind review, the pride in creating something with our own hands and the determination it takes to keep going, even on the difficult days. In many ways, we've become online friends. That, to me, is one of the loveliest things about social media.
Behind every small business is a real person. Someone juggling work, family, hopes and dreams. Someone packing orders late into the evening. Someone quietly hoping that the next post might reach a few more people.
When we choose to leave a kind comment, share someone's work or recommend a small business to a friend, we often don't realise just how much those small gestures can mean.
Support doesn't always have to come in the form of a purchase. Sometimes it's simply taking a moment to encourage someone else. I've been incredibly fortunate to experience that kindness since starting Melting Moments, and I'm so grateful to everyone who has become part of this journey.
So today's little reminder isn't just to support small businesses. It's to support the people behind them. A kind word, a thoughtful comment or a simple share can brighten someone's entire day. Because behind every business is a person hoping someone will believe in what they've created. And I think that's something truly worth celebrating.
